Tobacco-Free Life Scholarship Rules

Thank you for participating in the Tobacco-Free Life Academic Scholarship. Please review the rules below before submitting your scholarship application.

  • Any essay submitted to us must be the original work of the participant.
  • This scholarship is only available to enrolled students; therefore, any members of the TobaccoFreeLife organization and their immediate family are not eligible to participate.
  • Decisions of the judges are conclusive and irreversible.
  • Essays that fail to meet the specified requirements or are sent after the submission deadline will not be considered.
  • By accepting the scholarship prize, the winning participants grant TobaccoFreeLife.org the right to freely use their submitted essay within an appropriate context.
  • TobaccoFreeLife.org will make every reasonable attempt to read and judge every contributed essay, but it will not be responsible for failure to read and/or judge an essay.
  • Violation of any rules may result in revocation of any prize granted to the winning participant.
  • TobaccoFreeLife.org will not be liable to the participant for any indirect, punitive, special or consequential damages under any circumastances.
  • In the event that TobaccoFreeLife.org is forced to change or alter some or all of these rules, they will notify the contestants via email. These changes will henceforth be considered read and accepted. If the participants find the changes unacceptable, they may withdraw from this essay contest.
  • All federal, state, local and other taxes and charges on scholarship prizes will be paid by the participant.
  • All submissions become a property of TobaccoFreeLife.org, to use, reproduce, or distribute as it sees fit in its sole discretion.
